ow to tune the guitalele like a guitar (EADBGE tuning), how to tune guilele guitar, how to tune the guilele like a guitar EADBGE, brazilian ukulele teacher, how to tune guitalele like guitar, tuning guitalele like a guitar, tuning guilele like a guitar, guilele tuning eadgbe, guitalele, guilele, the guitalele as a guitar, guitar tuning on guitalele, guitar tuning on guilele, guitalele as a guitar, strings for guitalele, strings guitalele guitar tune with https://www.guitarstuner.com/

Welcome to the Toca Ukulele channel I'm João Tostes. I have here two guitaleles this one is from Yamaha, GL-1, and this one is a Shelby guitalele. Let's see the standard guitalele tuning first From top to bottom: A D G C E A It's five semitons higher than the guitar. if we lower the tuning of the guitalele standard strings, trying to make them to sound like a guitar, the sound looks like this: Terrible sound of wrong strings =/ So it's not good at all. Bad sound again =( and it's also out of intonation. if we use guitar strings, the standard ones, the result is the same so now i have an important note the distance between the shadow to the nut is approximately 44 centimeters so the solution here is to use strings from a small sized guitar, okay? This is the idea so I have here three options and I will use these strings in both my guitaleles to see what happens let's go [Music] our first test was with la bella fg 114 nylon classical fractional guitar strings one quarter (1/4) 44/45 cm the strings are a little soft, flaccid I mean, not exactly as they were when i lose the specific strings for guitar lily but it doesn't have a good tension so it works to do what we want but it's not so good at all because of the situation of the tension because of it i have also an intonation problem here that i had a little with the original guitalele strings and now i have a bigger problem the sound is a little metallic it's not so clear at all and they don't seem to be high quality strings it's a medium quality strings when we compare it to other brands.

Between the three we are testing here it's the cheapest one and it also comes with a g string an extra string [Music] our second test was with Hannabach 890 MT shorter scale guitar strings 1/8 44/48 cm (centimeters) so it was easy to get it in tune easy and fast to get and to maintain the strings are firm, smooth and we have a perfect tension, flawless sound really amazing if i had a better guitalele the sound for sure would be so nice so perfect they are professional strings and are more expensive it doesn't have an extra string like the La bella, they have the g string as an extra this one is the full set but no extra string [Music] the third test was with Savarez Prodige 38 540 CXS 38/55 cm (centimeters). This is the distance from the saddle to the nut it was easy to tune the strings and they kept the tuning well.

It has a beautiful and uniform sound so it's a good result here with Savarez. although tuned the instrument tends to lose intonation and this is one of the things that is best on this yamaha guitalele when this is tuned with the original or a set for guitalele strings and this one it also doesn't come with an extra G string. The detail here is that the G string is flat it's unwound string different from the first and the second test when they had the g string wounded Savarez does not come with this kind of nomenclature such as one half one quarter one eighth they have only the distance from the saddle, as I said to the nut. An important note: be careful with the sizes as we have one quarter from La bella and one quarter from Hannabach, they are different sizes, they are they have a different distance from the nut to the saddle so be careful they are not using the same nomenclature as i said at the end of the Savarez test, Savarez does not have a one quarter one half they just have the distance between the nut and the saddle.

So, in my case, I prefer the Hannabach, it's very good and for me it's the best one between these three packs of strings. Savarez is also very good,  a professional string, but Hannabach fits better to me to my ukulele (meaning guitalele). Sounds great, a good intonation and a good tension. The La Bella is a medium quality string so it's the last option to me and the three worked and we have here some options to tune our guitalele as a guitar. Where to buy? I'm going to put the links to buy those strings on the description of this video on youtube please just take a look so i hope to see you next time please subscribe to our channel we have lots of new videos to come.
